Dinner and discussion [rp for lapsedsaint]

Charlotte made a simple dinner, but she did make it rather than getting take out. It was still warm enough to serve it out on the patio, so she set that table complete with wine and candles. She wanted dinner to be as pleasant as she could make it.

The kittens cooperated, thanks to a healthy serving dished up in the kitchen just for them. Over the meal, Charlotte made herself tell a light, amusing story about an old client. When they were done, she cleared the table, leaving John to enjoy his wine and the sunset.

She cleaned up in the kitchen, letting him decide when he was ready to come in and talk.

He rumbled softly, then took her lips in another hard kiss. "Floor is fun."

She nodded firmly, twisting under him to be able to get her hand back behind his head. She gave him teeth and tongue and a deep moan. "Floor is very fun. Balcony was fun." She shuddered. "Up against the couch, in the shower, am I leaving anything out we should try?"

She laughed suddenly. "A car. That could be fun."

He joined her in laughing, finally shifting so he could hold her in his arms. "Kitchen counter."

"Yes. And all those places in Boston, too." She nuzzled against his shoulder, getting the blanket more comfortably around them. "Please?"

He nodded and kissed her again, his lips moving gently over hers. When he pulled back, he smiled. "Yes."

She purred happily and snuggled very close, her arms going around his waist so she could have him tight against her. There was no way she would let go any time soon. "If we're going to end every conversation this way, we need a thicker rug in here."

Chuckling against her lips, he nodded. "Might be a good idea, baby." He tucked himself against her and closed his eyes. They'd be fine on the floor for a little while longer.

Equally content to stay where they were, she kissed his shoulder as she relaxed toward a doze. When it became clear they weren't moving, both kittens appeared on the edge of the couch and settled in to watch them. As she faded close to sleep, Charlotte muttered softly, "Would have gone to the classes."

"Will go to Salem." He looked at the kittens and shook his head, then settled against her. He was asleep a few moments later, clinging to her.
